Pesticide Analysis

We specialize in analyzing all 96 regulated pesticides as demanded by Health Canada regulations, using our most advanced LC-MS/MS platform and in a single proprietary method that we have developed which provides single part per billion (ppb) or lower level of detection for all pesticides.

The presence of pesticides in a cannabis or hemp product indicates that either pesticides were utilized during growing the product or the product has somehow become contaminated after harvest. Note that there are many pesticides that are approved to use on some food crops but these products are designed to be metabolized by the digestive system. When smoked, especially at high temperature, they enter the bloodstream directly through the lungs. As an example, myclobutanil, the chemical which is used to kill mildew and is allowed to be used on grapes, is a known carcinogen that is strictly prohibited for use on plants that are smoked; because it produces hydrogen cyanide when heated.
